Because our camping trip was rained out, we got to spend more time with our little River, who turned one on August 23. River's parents are my brother Jay and his beautiful wife Christy. I was able to be with Christy when River was born- one of the most amazing experiences of my life- and I've always felt bonded with this beautiful baby girl.
River was so dainty about the cupcake! She would just pick a little bit off and put it nicely in her mouth. Jay tried to teach her the art of cramming cake in your mouth, but she would have no part of it!

We missed having Boston there! Then things would have been perfect!

I came and saw sweet miss River. She kept doing things to try to get us to laugh. It ws really cute.
