I got home from Nathan's soccer practice last Wednesday to find a little boy in need of some family fun. Matthew had written out a plan for "fun fest" that included baseball, soccer, "fresbee" and food. I got dinner in the oven and then we went out and had a great time playing together. Sam and DJ (bottom pic) liked the pizza part of fun fest the best! Matthew has written "fun fest" on our calendar for lots of different Wednesdays. But today the little stinker will NOT go to school, so there will be no fun fest or any other kind of fun for him today! "I'm sick of taking orders, especially from you, mom!" he told me. He's going to be so much fun as a teenager!

Oh dear me. Matthew could be Christopher's twin brother - words and all! He was a monster at that age! There is hope. :) Chris is almost 11 and comes up to me more frequently now telling me he's glad I'm his mom and all that other kind of stuff. I was getting pretty tired of the "I don't have to listen to you/I hate you" attitude. I was beginning to think what life in jail might be like as a certain little boy might not be around very long. :) He has improved by leaps and bounds as he has gotten older. Hang in there!
