July 21 - 27

Nathan in the Primary room before the crowd hits.

Katie and Russ at the Stake Pioneer Day activity.

  • Another RS Breakfast and Garden Tour. Thanks, Rachell, for planning all these great things to do. They've been really good for me!
  • DJ had a cub scout swimming thing at the pool. The first thing the lady in charge wants all the boys to do is swim across to the deep end. So I feel a little panicky. DJ can swim, but it is a long way to the other side of the pool and I'm not sure he can swim that far. I worry, he swims, and gets there just fine. And I'm reminded the kids usually succeed when I let them try.
  • Do you ever go somewhere without your camera, then of course the perfect photo opportunity comes up and you have to just kick yourself that you can't get a picture of it? Friday night we went to Luna for the Pioneer Carnival. The funnest thing there is this cool dunk tank. Last year DJ climbed up into the tank, chickened out and got down. He did that 3 or 4 times and felt pretty discouraged each time he didn't go through with it. This year I was a little nervous when he got in the line, but he climbed right up, got dunked three times, then got back in line to do it again- three more times. Good job, D! (He didn't so much enjoy having to eat at Bear Wallow in soaking wet clothes!! Next year we'll take his swim trunks!)
  • library, playgroup at the park, laundry, lecturing children (doesn't work- what does?!), all the usual stuff. Summer is almost over. Mixed feelings about that!
