Monday: Went back to 7th grade (would anybody accept money to go back and live that year over again? I wouldn't!) Matt had kindergarten water day, Sam had a BBQ at Lyman Lake, then water activities on the football field in the afternoon. He made sure that "Mrs. Bigelow" got soaked. Katie had another softball game. At the game I asked my friends what they were doing for FHE and they all said, "This is it!", so that was good enough for us, too. We have some great new families in our ward that have become our good friends and we feel blessed to know them.
Tuesday: Most of the 7th graders went on a trip to the Grand Canyon, and another sub and I got to stay back and babysit the rest of them. Fortunately the other sub was my good friend Amber, whom I met my first day of 7th grade when one of the teachers asked the nice redheaded girl to show the dorky new girl where the band room was! DJ finally got to go swimming with his 3rd grade class and we had a pack meeting that night. Worn out Nathan fell asleep in the tub!!
Wednesday: Another day at seventh grade, irrigation turn for Rusty in the morning, Sam's 6th grade pool party, and most importantly my wonderful mom's birthday.
Thursday: A picnic and pool party for the 7th graders, but the weatherman didn't read our plans. Light rain walking to the park, freezing wind and rain at the park, almost 3 hours of watching 7th graders swim, then walking back to the school in major freezing rain and wind. My last day there! Actually I didn't mind it- the kids were pretty darn entertaining most of the time. VERY cruel joke of nature: 3 inches of snow in the evening. Yuck! It only snowed because I put away all the winter clothes and coats last Saturday!
Friday: Spent most of the day with our good friends Geoff and Jody and their kids, who moved from Eagar to ST. George a couple years ago. Great to see them! Jody will always be one of my dearest friends. Sam went to the Gaslight Theatre in Tucson with all of the other "drama kids".
Saturday: My good high school friend Melony and her husband Scott and sweet little baby were in town for Amber's (see above) wedding, so Mel and I hung out in the morning. Took care of some Primary "business" in the afternoon then went to the wedding at 4:00. Amber could not have looked happier or more gorgeous. Russ brought the kids out for the reception, but they were all crabby(kids, not Russ) and didn't stay long.
Sunday: Fun sharing time today- have I mentioned I love Primary?! Afternoon was a fun potluck at the Rhotons before the Steurers went back to St. George. Best part of Sunday night? Remembering that Summer break has started!!
