The Bigelow Family Christmas Tree

We haven't had very good luck getting a Christmas tree in the forest, and the last few years we've done something I didn't think we'd ever do- use a fake tree. But this year, since Russ spends LOTS of time out in the woods, he kept his eyes open for a good Christmas tree. I take that back: for Rusty, it has to be THE PERFECT TREE! He found one up by sheep's crossing, and lucky enough it was right next to the road.

Matthew learned a valuable lesson about wearing croc shoes in the snow!

Score! Nice tree.

Beware though, in the future this could lead to some kind of Chevy Chase Christmas tree...you know how men can be about Christmas trees and bragging rights, he, he!

Anyways, it looks like it was a lot of fun. Sad to say we haven't got a live tree YET...I think I may pester J tomorrow until we get one. Heaven knows there is no excuse for an employee of the Forest Service to flout a fake-o.

Oh yeah, and it is about time HWY 273 is open. So jealous that you got to go to Sheep's Crossing...it's one of my favorite places in the White Mtns. and sad to say I haven't been there for over 3 years :(

Toodles!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I love your Christmas music on the blog. Actually, I seem to agree with the usual music on your blog, but the Christmas stuff has exceptional fine taste...none of that vulgar, pop, ho-ey, do-ey (sp?) stuff..you know the kind where some Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson tries their hand at a holiday classic set by Nat King Cole or Mr. Bing Crosby? What a corruption of Christmas, good music, and all that is holy! Anyways, I HATE that stuff! With a vengeance I might add...had an hour long conversation about it last night with my mom. But to make my point, I love the classic Christmas music (hymns and standards like Cole, Crosby, and even Frankie Sinatra) and the really good ole' cheesy stuff--"Rudolf..", "Frosty.." and even "Santa Baby."

ANYWAYS, ANYWAYS can you tell it's Sunday night, I can't sleep, and I am addicted to seeing other people's virtual lives?! So thanks for the music and I better call it a night.

Laters!
