A-p-a-c-h-e C-o-u-n-t-y S-p-e-l-l-i-n-g B-e-e! Sam took 2nd place in the Alpine School spelling bee, losing out to an 8th grader. The day before the county spelling bee, we found out that the winner was sick, so Sam would need to represent his school in her place. Before the spelling bee started, we joked with Sam that he would be cursed with whatever word he missed, so we laughed about NOT missing measles or enema or bald or naked. Well, he missed CLUMSY (he was nervous!), but so far the "curse" hasn't seemed to have much effect on him! It was a great experience for a 4th grader and we're proud of Sam for trying his best!
